Nerium oleander

AhmedSharyph

Nerium oleander is a fast-growing, drought-tolerant plant that can reach heights of up to 6-8 feet (2-2.5 meters) when mature. It has long, narrow leaves that are dark green in color and can grow up to 8 inches (20 cm) in length. The flowers of the plant are typically 2-3 inches (5-8 cm) in diameter and are arranged in clusters at the tips of the branches. They bloom from spring to fall and can come in various shades of pink, red, yellow, and white. The plant also produces small, bean-like seed pods that contain numerous seeds.

The plant is popular as an ornamental plant and is often used as a hedge or screen, or in landscaping as a specimen plant or in groupings. It is also used in parks, gardens, and along roadsides. However, due to its toxic nature, it is important to handle the plant with care and keep it away from children and pets. The entire plant, including leaves, flowers, stems, and seeds, contains toxic compounds called cardiac glycosides, which can cause severe symptoms if ingested, such as vomiting, abdominal pain, dizziness, and even death.

Even contact with the plant can cause skin irritation or allergic reactions in some people. It is also known to cause severe eye irritation and temporary blindness if the sap gets into the eyes. If ingested, medical attention should be sought immediately.
